Oscar Kjellström and Johan Lindstrand are co-founders of Centigo in Gothenburg, a leaderless management consulting firm with the vision of Sensible Growth Everywhere, based on long-term thinking and sustainability. Who are you?
— Oscar Kjellström and Johan Lindstrand. Together, we are responsible for Centigo in Gothenburg.
Why did you start Centigo in Gothenburg?
— We both worked for Centigo in Stockholm, and when we moved to Gothenburg, we knew we wanted to bring Centigo here. Since Centigo is a leaderless management consulting firm, our main ambition was to open the office here. So, with our personal commitment and fantastic support from colleagues in Stockholm, we started and operate Centigo here. Before we began the establishment, we took a walk in Slottsskogen, where we discussed our ambitions and our shared vision for the type of workplace we wanted to create for ourselves and our future employees.
What are your roles?
— Our main responsibility is to establish Centigo in Gothenburg, focusing on brand awareness and the company's growth. As management consultants, we also handle our own projects. Johan is an extremely skilled project manager in the construction and real estate sectors and retail industry, and one of the best at Centigo (perhaps in Sweden) in staffing optimization and project and portfolio management, known as PMO. Oscar has also worked extensively with PMO but is perhaps primarily an expert in Go-to-Market strategies and sales, having led several such projects in the automotive industry, energy sector, and public sector.
What is the most important thing you do?
— At its core, it’s about our passion for creating a workplace we want to work in; a place with a long-term vision that fosters growth for people and satisfied clients. Centigo’s vision, Sensible Growth Everywhere, reflects our belief in contributing to long-lasting and sustainable companies and organizations. This is the same principle we apply to running Centigo in Gothenburg.
What are you most proud of in your professional work?
— We are particularly proud of the team we have assembled and the strong culture we have built. Our consultants are highly competent and engaged. We could have grown twice as fast, but we have been very selective in our recruitment to maintain a high level of commitment and expertise. An important part of our culture is fostering psychological safety, meaning everyone on the team feels comfortable sharing their opinions and ideas, knowing they are valued and respected. This enhances collaboration and leads to better decision-making and innovative solutions.
In connection with starting Centigo in Gothenburg, you have been located at CONVENDUM Kungsportsavenyn 21. Why did you choose CONVENDUM?
— We have been at CONVENDUM since day one when we started Centigo in Gothenburg on March 1, 2021. It was actually after conducting our own preliminary study that we chose CONVENDUM. For us, it has always been important to have an office in a central location with an attractive address, which of course makes us more attractive as an employer and also facilitates our clients’ access.
Why are you and your employees satisfied with CONVENDUM?
— We would really like to commend the staff here as they are superb. They are professional, service-minded, and extremely pleasant, and are probably the biggest factor in why we have chosen to stay here despite our growth. We are now in our third office size. The ability to scale up or down makes it extremely easy to grow in all directions here.
Do you benefit from the network available?
— We could probably make even more use of the network in the building, as it’s easy to get to know those on the same floor. But primarily, we have used CONVENDUM’s facilities as a networking platform for our external network by holding recruitment days here, our annual Pre-Summer Cooldown event for our clients and industry colleagues, and we frequently invite clients here for meetings and conferences.
In what ways does CONVENDUM contribute to your daily work and overall career journey?
— By working at CONVENDUM, we have created an ideal environment to attract new colleagues and hold professional meetings with clients. Our office is truly a meeting place that adds significant value to our daily work and overall career journey.
