With a base at CONVENDUM Nybrogatan 17 but with the whole world as his workplace, Niclas Kjellström-Matseke spends his time between board assignments, meetings with company CEOs, and travels to Europe, the USA, and South Africa. He is currently exploring the impact of AI development on the future and preparing for upcoming trips to London, Madrid, and Cape Town, where both tech companies and board meetings await.
Which CONVENDUM office do you work from?
I have my own office at Nybrogatan 17, but I often use other CONVENDUM locations in the city as needed to facilitate meetings more effectively.
What does a typical workday look like for you today?
They vary greatly, and I spend about half of my time reading up on investment information or board materials. The other half of my time goes to meetings with external stakeholders and company CEOs that I assist. Geographically, I probably spend about a third of my time at the office, a third at external meetings in the city, and a third traveling to Europe, the USA, and South Africa.
What are you currently working on?
Right now, I’m spending a few days externally to try to learn more about how the rapid development of AI is affecting the future, as it has the potential to impact us profoundly. It’s fantastic to meet some of the world’s leading figures in this field, to listen and learn. You become quite humbled by their expertise and the challenges we face. It’s a bit frightening, I think, but it also brings many opportunities.
What does the near future look like?
This week, I’m preparing for a trip to London and Madrid, where I’ll be meeting some exciting tech companies. After that, it’s off to Cape Town for a board meeting at the Desmond Tutu Foundation, as well as work on an exciting film production in which I am a co-owner.
