This year, Josefine Nilsson has been with CONVENDUM for five years. She is the Site Manager at CONVENDUM Birger Jarlsgatan 57 and is actively involved in creating and strengthening the company culture, as well as promoting cohesion and engagement among employees through the internal events team.
Tell us, who are you and why did you start working at CONVENDUM?
I grew up in Karlshamn and moved to Stockholm in 2016. Shortly after my move, I trained in event management and then worked as an event coordinator for three years. When I was faced with the choice of starting my own event business with former colleagues or joining CONVENDUM, I chose CONVENDUM, which I am very grateful for today!
In less than a year, you’ve been involved in opening two CONVENDUM locations, Vegagatan 14 and Birger Jarlsgatan 57. How do you describe this journey?
It has been the most educational and professionally rewarding experience I’ve had. This year marks five years since I started working at CONVENDUM. I am currently the Site Manager at CONVENDUM Birger Jarlsgatan 57, but my journey began as a Service Manager at CONVENDUM Strandvägen 1, where I later became Site Manager. In 2022, I was asked to be part of the team opening CONVENDUM Vegagatan 14 at Odenplan in Stockholm. It was amazing to see Vegagatan 14 transition from a construction site to a top-notch coworking space. Everything from coordinating contractors to assembling a team with the right staff and then seeing all the fantastic members move in was incredibly rewarding. A year later, I was asked to open CONVENDUM Birger Jarlsgatan 57, and it was an obvious yes. Now, a year after opening CONVENDUM Birger Jarlsgatan 57, we opened another new floor in May 2024 that will be filled with wonderful members!
I have a team that I am incredibly proud of, and together we have made the location thrive. Additionally, I contribute to building a great company culture through the internal events team. We are a large and growing company with multiple CONVENDUM addresses, so it’s important to create opportunities for us to meet and have fun together.
As you mentioned, you’ve been involved in opening new locations. What do you enjoy most about opening a new coworking space?
CONVENDUM Vegagatan 14 opened in March 2022, and CONVENDUM Birger Jarlsgatan 57 opened the following year. There’s something special about opening new locations and diving wholeheartedly into a project—being involved in every part and seeing it through from start to finish. Building a strong team and welcoming the first members together is something I love! It’s also one of the most rewarding aspects of my job—meeting so many amazing members and watching them interact with each other and grow as a company. It’s a role that truly energizes and delights me!
