CONVENDUM initiates collaboration with the Swedish innovation company PlasticFri for a better environment and reduced climate impact.
— We are pleased to announce a new collaboration with PlasticFri aimed at reducing plastic waste in our facilities. By 2050, there will be more plastic than fish in our oceans, and microplastics pose a serious threat to marine life and human health, says Susanne Johansson, Purchase Manager at CONVENDUM.
In response to this, CONVENDUM is taking a proactive step toward sustainability. The collaboration has already begun at CONVENDUM's two facilities in Sundbyberg, where plastic bags are being phased out at Vasagatan 14A and Rissneleden 10. The phase-out will soon begin at CONVENDUM's largest facilities in central Stockholm.
The goal is for PlasticFri’s plant-based and sustainable waste bags to replace all plastic bags at all CONVENDUM facilities. PlasticFri’s products are made from renewable resources such as agricultural waste and inedible plants. They are certified compostable and biodegradable, ensuring that no toxins or microplastics remain.
PlasticFri is a Swedish innovation company headquartered at CONVENDUM in Sundbyberg. For its groundbreaking innovation, it has been recognized by CNN and named 'The World's Most Innovative Sustainability Startup' among 1,400 companies worldwide.
— We look forward to implementing these changes and contributing to a more sustainable future, concludes Susanne Johansson.
